You got lucky!!!

Any place that requests money up front to guarantee a loan is a scam. As long as you did not actually give them your credit card number or any bank account information you are better off just forgetting about it.

loan

I also thought something was not quite right with having to send money by money-gram in order to get a loan so, I called the Canadian BBB and they told be that Torcan Financial was a scam and that I should report them to the RCMP. It is against the law in the USA and Canada for a company to ask for money up front in order to secure a loan. I filed a report on line at www.recol.ca. Since I sent my information to this company the BBB told me I should put a fraud watch on my credit report. Also, if you sent them a voided check so they could automatically deposit your loan you may want to close that account and open a new one.
