I have a credit card with Chase and it currently offers 3% reward bonus for everyday purchases. If i add my mother as an authorized user and allow her to pay the house bills, car gas bills, and other bills, will those purchases count towards my rewards bonuses?
also will all the payments made from her card show up on my bill and only my bill? will i be teh one responsible for paying the total bill or will each (me and my mother) be responsible for our own purchases?

Paying those types of bills is an excellent way to boost your reward points. Those bills are typically the types of bills that a person knows has to be paid on a monthly basis and the funds should already be set aside to make those payments. (not impulse purchases, etc)
I even do that myself.
Something to keep in mind when deciding to pay monthly household bills with credit cards - while some companies will accept credit cards for payments, some companies will not or some may charge a fee to accept credit cards.
A person should check with the company they are wanting to pay with a credit card to see if they will accept it. If the company charges a fee then don%26#039;t pay with a credit card.
If you add your mother as an AU (I would not recommend adding her as a joint user) then any charges she makes will count towards your rewards points.
If you add your mother, you will see the charges on your bill.
If you want her to also receive a copy of the bill from Chase then you will probably have to request it. (card companies usually do not send AU%26#039;s copies of the bill unless it is requested)
You are the one that is ultimately responsible for %26quot;any and all%26quot; charges made to the account. If she fails to pay then it is up to you to pay.
If she fails to pay and you do not pay, it will be you who they will go after and it will be your credit that will be trashed. They will not go after her since she would only be an AU and not legally liable.
If she is only an AU and she fails to pay, you can have her removed from the account at any time.
If you add her as a joint user and she fails to pay, you will not be able to remove her or restrict her charging ablilities. To keep her from making any further charges you would have to pay the account off and close the account. (again, I would not recommend adding anyone as a joint user)
But, if she were a joint and the account is defaulted on they may go after you, her or both of you.
Whether you add her or not is a decision that you should think hard about and discuss with her. Ask the hard questions - does she have a good history of paying her bills on time, will she pay the charges she made %26quot;on time%26quot; and %26quot;in full%26quot;, etc., etc., etc.
Even if you trust her totally and she has always been a responsible bill payer, life happens. If something does happen - her finances change, her health changes, etc., then you must decide, before you add her, that you will be willing and able to pay if she cannot.
