I need a credit card for emergencies and I wanted to apply for one online but i%26#039;m afraid to put my information online so how can I get credit card companies to mail me offers? is there like a web site I can go to and ask for them to be sent to my house
Ok so here%26#039;s the deal?signature loan
Ummm... Ok look. Im going to try to explain this as simple as I can because its kindof long and you have to be in the industry to understand.
If your worried about security on the website...I would go with a VeriSign Inc. secured site. Cant fail there. It will say VeriSign secured on where your about the enter your information. It even has there little logo.
If your worried about other creditors getting your information...well they are going to either way. Whether you go online or into a store.
Now...heres the deal. When your read your tiny print agreement on every credit card application you will see that it says that your information will be only given out for regular busines use bla bla bla.
Pretty much what happens is...there is a data base called Lexus Nexis. And all your information is stored there. Different creditors use different dealers to authorize that site. For example the site the agency I work for uses Accurint.
You can go to www.accurint.com to check it out but you cant log in cause you need a password.
But anyways all your info is there...thats how collection agents, creditors, banks, cops, etc find you.
They wait and eventually you apply for something and put your new add or pho or job or something.
So your not that safe anyways. It really makes no difference, just apply for the card.
Ok so here%26#039;s the deal?

mine started out as emergencies. funny cause i have had a lot of them.|||www.creditcards.com
get a unsecured credit card|||Go into your local Target store, or Best Buy, or almost any other and sign up for their credit card. It wont be hard to find.|||Go to www.visa.com or www.mastercard.com www.discover.com, and so on. you can use the following site to search and compare different credit cards. Once you find the one you like, call the associated toll free 800/877/etc number and request that they send the application to your home. At my company, we deal with it often that people want to do the transactions using real paper and sending it through the post office. :)
I do not suggest that you get credit cards for individual retailers like Target, Walmart, etc as they ALWAYS charge the highest interest rates.
I suggest you get a credit card directly through Chase, Wachovia, Bank of America, or another banking institution (even directly through Visa).
I hope I can put you at some ease to say that you should not be concerned about entering your personal information on secure web sites (the ones I listed). Working in the finance industry, specifically computers and Online Banking, large banks and the like are required by numerous federal and state laws to ensure they 1) protect your personal information by encrypting the transactions, 2) storing the information in an secure database/mainframe/application, and immediately report when they have had a data breach, 3) Companies are required to delete your personal information after a few years of you ending service (depends on the company and the industry, banks it is 7 years).|||Call them... Go on line and look for reputable credit card companies such as American Express, CITI then call them and apply over the phone or have them send you information.|||I am not sure but you can look in the phone book and call somebody.|||Ask one of your friends/family/co-workers who gets tons of them in the mail to give you one. They will usually have an 800 number to call to apply. OR you could cross out their name on the application and mail it in.|||alright well if you dont mind you could open a bank account in regions and they will give you a debit card and the money is taken out of your check and put into your bank account and the debit card works just like a credit card|||wow, be careful with this one....sending your info to just one place will result in a lifelong FULL mailbox lol. I would suggest getting one from your bank or going to places that offer them like circuit city or toys r us. They offer credit cards pamphlets that you can fill out to apply for. Be careful!!! Credit is a serious thing and once messed up, hard to get back. Good luck!|||Yes you can request for forms to be mailed to you. For your info, on-line registration is secured.|||you don%26#039;t need a credit card, you need another bank account with a debit card. put a certain amount in the account then you won%26#039;t have to worry about interest rates and all the other fees that come with it. credit cards suck.
